I’m going to start this post off on a funny note. Take a look at the image below. In case you ever thought “Hmm, I wonder what Shauna looks like in the morning?” Well err’body, the SHUT THE FUCK UP grumpy cat is probably the most accurate way to describe me. The crazy cat on the left dressed as Thor is my boyfriend, who happens to be very happy and sometimes even hyper in the morning (when it’s Friday). Our personalities are very different in the AM so I often have to sit there and talk myself out of bed at 4am, or I might snap and hulk out…or in this case, Loki-out.

So even though I wasn’t the happiest person in the world this morning, I did manage to get my ass to the gym at promptly 5:55am to do sprints/intervals. It was 27 degrees out when I left and ran to my car at full speed because, well, fucking heated seats rule!

THURSDAY – SPRINTS/WALLBALL

Stretching/warm up

0.5 mile jog to start
Squats + Overhead Press with 20# wallball
0.15 mile sprint @ 6.5mph
Push ups (total of 45)
0.15 mile sprint @ 7.1 mph
3 point wallball squat + press. (I squat to hit the wallball on the floor, come to standing position and thrust wallball out, away from chest, then thrust overhead)
0.15 mile sprint @ 8.6mph
15 lunges, each side with 20# wallball on back of neck

1-2 minute rest

0.4 mile jog/run
Squats + Overhead Press with 20# wallball
0.15 mile sprint @ 6.5mph
Push ups (total of 45)
0.15 mile sprint @ 7.1 mph
3 point wallball squat + press. (I squat to hit the wallball on the floor, come to standing postion and thrust wallball out, away from chest, then thrust overhead)
0.15 mile sprint @ 8.6mph
15 lunges, each side with 20# wallball on back of neck

15 minutes on the elliptical for resistance and cool down.

Thoughts: At first my legs did not like me. But I slowly increased the speed and started to feel good. The 3-point wallball thrusts really hurt. By the end of the whole thing, my arms were shaking horribly and I couldn’t lift them. WOOHOO!! After I got done, the yummy looking sandwich below is what I cooked up and ate at work. I’ve had this every morning for lunch and ITS SO GOOD TO HAVE TURKEY BACON BACK!
