Man, this morning was a bitch to wake up to. I was up past my bedtime last night since Cor got home from classes late and my legs are still pretty stiff and sore. I sat at the edge of the bed while my guy jumped in the shower and contemplated just sleeping in. But nope. I smiled. I couldn’t do that.

TUESDAY – LIFTING & CARDIO

Pre-Cardio: 10 mins step climber, 165 bpm HR goal

Pushups: 38
Dips: 4 x 18, 18, 19, 15
Chin Ups – Assisted: 110# x 3 x 12, 10, 9

Deadlifting + SLDL
50# x 2 x 15, both
80# x 1 x 17 – DD, 60# x 1 x 15 SLDL

Overhead Barbell Press
50# x 4 x 14, 12, 10, 10

Bent Barbel Rows + Curls + Overhead press, reverse grip
50# x [ 12 rows + 2-3 curls + 1-2 overheads] x 4

Thoughts: It wasn’t the best workout, but it felt good. The weather today is cold with a chance of getting colder, and snow tomorrow.  I layered up and just stopped thinking. My body is still sore from Sunday’s beat down and I’m sure I’ll still be feeling it till Friday. I maxed out on DL, so that means I’ll be deadlifting at home in the garage…with a space heater. I need to get my lifts up along with my miles. I know its a double edged sword, but my legs have a lot in them and I’m tired to not giving my full effort because of gyms and their silly equipment. I feel my legs getting stronger from trail running and I want to take more advantage of that. With that said, tomorrow is interval training and Thursday is more lifting, but no legs. We have a hike planned for this weekend, if the weather allows, as well as my long run next Monday.

Can I optimistic and say I’d like to get in 7 miles next monday? My goal is a solid 12 miles by the end of the year. Yeah..I know. We’ll see.
